{"id":334,"date":"2023-05-01T13:31:05","date_gmt":"2023-05-01T13:31:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tfolifeacademy.com\/tfofamilyoffice\/?post_type=tool_resource&#038;p=334"},"modified":"2023-08-23T13:37:04","modified_gmt":"2023-08-23T13:37:04","slug":"budgets-bucket-lists-other-saving-and-smart-spending-ideas","status":"publish","type":"tool_resource","link":"https:\/\/tfolifeacademy.com\/tfofamilyoffice\/resource\/budgets-bucket-lists-other-saving-and-smart-spending-ideas\/","title":{"rendered":"Budgets &#038; Bucket Lists: Other Saving and Smart Spending Ideas"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>Apps &amp; Digital Services<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Cancel apps you no longer use.<\/li>\n<li>Pre-load apps as part of your budget.<\/li>\n<li>Delete online shopping apps (i.e., Target, Amazon) to avoid the temptation.<\/li>\n<li>Cut back on streaming services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Shopping<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Instead of buying things in the moment, use the store&#8217;s app or website to allow you to think before buying.<\/li>\n<li>Eliminate \u201cConvenience Spending\u201d by committing to not use certain services for a period of time (i.e., Door Dash, Insta Cart).<\/li>\n<li>Buy One, Lose One: Sell items before buying new ones.<\/li>\n<li>Involve children early in shopping and costs.<\/li>\n<li>Sleep on large purchases and if married, set a $ limit not to exceed before spending.<\/li>\n<li>If married, discuss and agree on values and what to spend on (i.e., hair).<\/li>\n<li>Break-even mentality: Not spending all.<\/li>\n<li>Use brand-affiliated credit cards (for benefits, discounts, rewards \u2013 but pay them off).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Meals<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Eliminate food waste by using old veggies in soup or a stir-fry.<\/li>\n<li>Have a special night to go out and go \u201call out\u201d, then cook at home the rest of the week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Financial Accounts<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Start paying a \u201ccar\u201d payment into an account and buy the car with cash saved vs. financing.
